PCLA was originally founded in June 2015 by Peter Mulvaney and Dean McLoughlin Between them they have over 40 years’ experience within the insurance industry to date.  PCLA have a team of experienced loss assessors in every part of the country who are trained professionals and we also have a team of customer service staff in our office who provide an excellent level of service to all our clients.

Property Claims Loss Assessors Ltd. (PCLA) is an insurance advisory company working on behalf of the public. Allow us to explain this in much simpler terms. We are directly employed by you, the customer and not by the insurance companies. When you appoint PCLA, our job will be to ensure that you get the full settlement you are entitled to so you can repair the damage to your property and restore it to its original condition. If we don’t manage to get a settlement for you, then we won’t get paid at all. This means that we will work hard for you every step of the way.

About Us - Peter Mulvaney​

Peter Mulvaney

Certified insurance practitioner (CIP),
B.Sc (Hons) in Building Surveying
Peter studied at the Dundalk Institute of Technology where he gained an honours degree in building surveying. This degree, alongside the various insurance certificates that he has completed over the years, has allowed him to remain extremely knowledgeable about the insurance industry over the years. Peter has worked in loss assessing for over fifteen years now, and was a senior loss assessor in a leading loss assessing company before leaving in 2015 to set up his new venture at Property Claims Loss Assessors Ltd.

Dean Mc Loughlin

Partner
B.Sc (Hons) in Building Surveying
Dean has been working as a Loss Assessor for over 12 years and is very experienced & knowledgeable about the insurance industry having dealt with all types of property claims through the years. Dean studied in the Dundalk Institute of Technology where he gained his degree in building surveying and he also has his APA in insurance which gives him great knowledge of both the property & insurance areas. In 2019 Dean has joined Peter & Greg as a Partner in PCLA.

Cathal Grimes

Loss Assessor
(HONS) BSC Building Surveyor,
APA (accredited Product advisor).
Cathal studied in the Dundalk Institute of Technology where he gained a degree in building surveying. Since completing this degree he has also gained his APA in insurance and is currently studying towards his CIP with the Insurance Institute of Ireland. Both of these give Cathal a great knowledge when preparing scopes of work for claim as he has the knowledge of both buildings and of the insurance industry.

Melissa

Office Manager

Melissa joined the team in 2020 as Office Manager, she had previously worked in the Pension Industry and before that the Financial Services industry. Melissa is currently studying towards her QFA which will give her great knowledge into the Insurance Industry. In her spare time Melissa enjoys walking and travelling abroad.

Mark

Loss Assessor
Mark joined Property Claims Loss Assessors in 2023 following at a fourteen-year career as a Loss Adjuster with Ireland’s preeminent loss adjusting firm handling claims for every major insurer. During his fourteen-year loss adjusting career, Mark has worked with many complex property claims in both the residential and commercial sectors while gaining extensive experience in both areas including understanding policy cover and wordings / endorsements and claims procedures. Mark is now a Loss Assessor at PCLA and represents the policyholders interests while settling difficult and complex claims, both commercially and domestically. Mark is a member of the Insurance Institute of Ireland and holds a Diploma in Loss Adjusting.
